| One of the fun
things about owning a car from 1959 is all the research one can do about
the era. I was never a sports card collector in my earlier life, but
with cards like these available out there how could I resist getting a
few? Now, thanks to my interest in `59 Chevys, I collect baseball
and football cards! Rather than collecting for value, I collect for
history, curiosity, and mostly fun. Currently I am building a
collection to pass on to my sons when they get older.
The following cards
represent some of the sports greats of 1959. You may recognize a few
names, including Frank Gifford and Willy Mays. You may not recognize
people like Proverb Jacobs, who was a strong and versatile utility player
for several football teams during the 1960s. Check `em out here,
